Spring/Summer Term

The children were learning about Pointillism and they looked at how Georges Seurat created his pictures. Then they had a turn creating them.

The children have been reading the story of 'Where the wild things are' and they used the illustrations to inspire them when creating a 3D sculpture.

Autumn/Spring Term

EYFS

The children created trees and leaves using paints and crayons. They did leaf printing and leaf rubbings to create their autumn pictures.

Year 1

The children used paints to create leaves in a range of autumn colours.

The children painted a lovely picture of the countryside. They used a range of skills to create the collaborative painting.

Year 3 looked at the work of Andy Goldsworthy and then made their own pieces of work following his style.

Year 4

The children enjoyed drawing detailed drawings of plants. They used the skills of sketching and cross hatching. They enlarged the picture and shaded over them again.

Year 5

Year 5 looked at Pointillism and the work of Georges Seurat and Paul Signac. The children used the technique of painting in which small distinct dots of colour are applied in patterns.

The children did sketches of what they saw in the countryside area. They used a range of line effects in their art work.
