Year 6 children took part in a Boccia Festival at Longcroft on Tuesday 5th February. They demonstrated St Mary’s Christian Values showing ‘hope’ to improve their bowling skills. Children also demonstrated all of St Mary’s School P.E values. Children participating all attend a Wednesday lunch time Boccia Club led by Mrs Stephenson who has trained them to understand the tricky rules of Boccia whilst supporting them to develop social and hand coordination skills. Well done to all that took part.
Table Tennis competition On Tuesday, pupils from KS2 went to Longcroft School to compete in a Table Tennis competition. Our 3 teams played against 18 other teams and won many of their games. A super evening was had by all.
We worked with the School Sports Partnership coordinators to undertake an orienteering competition between the year group.
Meet the new St Mary’s Sports Crew. They met for the first time this week to learn about their role. The Sports Crew promote the 6 P.E. values and represent the voice of the children to improve sports across the school. Picture 1
The badminton team payed on Tuesday at Longcroft School and played excellent badminton against other local schools. they came third in their league although did not qualify for the semi finals.
The year 5/6 girls, having won the local tournament went to the regional's and although did not place in the top teams played incredibly well and Mrs Capes is very proud of their sporting achievements this year as a team.
Year 5 football league Pupils from Year 5 represented the school on Monday 12th and Monday 19th Septem-ber. They all displayed some fantastic football skills, working together as a team.
