School Council

Our School Council represents the views of all our pupils. It gives children the opportunity to make their voices heard and feel part of the whole school community.

The school council comprises two representatives from Y1 – Y6 (elected annually by the children). Mrs Nixon leads the School Council.

At these meetings issues relevant to the smooth running of the school are discussed and suggestions welcomed to improve school organisation and activities. The School Council voted this year to establish Milkshake Mondays. The School Council also discussed school uniform, dining arrangements and educational visits, amongst many other things. Bullying is always an agenda item, and so demonstrates our proactive attitude towards this issue. We believe that the school council offers an important opportunity to learn some of the principals of citizenship.

The School Council help to shape our school meals.  They listen to the opinions of the children then hold a meeting each term to look at ways that the school menu can be improved.

Taco Tuesday, themed dinners and end of term buffets are some of the ideas they have introduced.
